Start with what you need
Before comparing providers, write down what is frustrating you today, whether that is slow support, surprise bills, security worries or a lack of planning. A good managed IT provider should address each item specifically.
10 questions to ask any managed IT provider
- Is your monthly price flat, and what exactly does it include?
- What are your guaranteed response times for urgent and normal issues?
- Is cybersecurity (MFA, EDR, email filtering, backups) included or extra?
- Do you have technicians who can come onsite in my part of DFW?
- Who will I talk to when I call, and will they know my environment?
- How do you document our systems, and do we own that documentation?
- How often will we review our technology roadmap and budget?
- How do you handle onboarding, and how long does it take?
- What happens to our data and access if we ever part ways?
- Can you give me references from businesses our size?
Red flags
Be cautious of long contracts with steep cancellation fees, vague “best effort” support, security sold piecemeal, and providers who cannot explain things without jargon.
